Firm Profile
Perkins Coie opened its Anchorage office in 1977. Our Anchorage staff currently includes 9 lawyers. From the inception of our Anchorage office, we have hired lawyers who want to spend their lives and careers in Alaska. Four of our lawyers have practiced in Alaska for 15 years or longer, and our newer lawyers are equally committed to the practice of law in Alaska. Our practice in Alaska emphasizes six areas: We have an active and expanding environmental and natural resource practice. We represent our clients' interests before many state and federal environmental regulators, including the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, the Environmental Protection Agency, and many others. We represent clients in a wide variety of litigation in Alaska state and federal courts, including commercial litigation, product liability defense, environmental litigation, aircraft crash litigation, construction litigation, and class action defense. We have a highly experienced employment law group that counsels employers on Alaska and federal employment law issues, and represents employers in litigation. We provide counseling and litigation services to construction-industry clients regarding construction law, construction contracts, bidding and procurement issues, and construction disputes. We are the municipal attorneys for several Alaska communities. We advise them on a wide range of issues including land use, real estate, environmental issues, employment law, and general municipal law. We represent clients in business and real estate transactions.
