Medical problems and a loss of independence are often unfortunate accompaniments to aging. When a family member begins to require long-term or full-time nursing home care, what to do about protecting property and assets can become complicated. There are a lot of myths out there about how to protect property and when to give property away in order to legally qualify for Medicaid benefits. If you are facing a parent, grandparent, or spouse entering a nursing home, it is essential that you consult an experienced and knowledgeable elder law attorney before acting upon rumors about liquidating assets. Every family is different and the rules of Medicaid qualification to not apply equally to every situation. We take the time to examine your particular needs and educate you and your family on the best course of action. We also urge you to consult us before the need arises so we can help you plan for this eventuality. The more time we have to plan for a loss of independence the better we can protect your assets.

We strive to provide a full service elder and family law practice. If you have questions about how we can be of service to you and your family, or you would like to schedule and consultation to discuss our services, please do not hesitate to contact us anytime.
