Joseph T. Barberi was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in 1948. He attended Central Michigan University achieving his Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1970 and Detroit College of Law where he graduated cum laude and received his J.D. in 1974. He was admitted to the State of Michigan Bar in 1974 and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1978.
